EnergyHub receives Grid Forward’s 2024 Grid Innovator Award

We are pleased to announce that EnergyHub has been recognized by Grid Forward with a 2024 Grid Innovator Award in the Industry category. The Grid Innovator Awards highlight the significant contributions of organizations and individuals in accelerating grid innovation and modernization. We are proud to be acknowledged alongside this year’s Utility and Individual winners, PacifiCorp, and Larry Bekkedahl of Portland General Electric.

EnergyHub President Seth Frader-Thompson holds the 2024 Grid Innovator Award

“It’s an honor to be recognized for our work advancing grid technology,” said Seth Frader-Thompson, co-founder and President of EnergyHub. “This is the moment for flexibility to fulfill its promise. EnergyHub’s 70+ utility clients are leading the effort to make virtual power plants central to a reliable, affordable, decarbonized energy future.”

Our gratitude extends to our clients and partners who have been instrumental in delivering flexibility programs that can tackle decarbonization, electrification, and decentralization. Together, we have reached significant industry milestones that are establishing new, flexibility use cases for VPPs, including,

  • Building Canada’s largest VPP in just six months with the Ontario Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO);
  • Incorporating EVs into National Grid’s ConnectedSolutions battery program to safeguard distribution assets;
  • Working with one of our Arizona-based clients to bid their VPP into the Western Energy Imbalance Market, delivering benefits to their customers and the California Independent System Operator (CAISO).

Grid Forward hosts the Grid Innovator Awards each year as part of its annual member meeting. This year’s finalists and winners were chosen by an expert panel of Grid Forward partners, advisors, and board members.
